Taking the hop on hop off tour boat allowed us to visit Stockholm's Museum Island where the National Culture Museum and the VASA Museum are located. The VASA was the king's idea of the biggest battleship in the world. It was to be a statement of the majesty of the Swedish empire at the time. However, when it was launched in 1638 it sank in the harbor! It was too tall and too narrow and so a cross wind simply keeled it over. 300 years later it was raised and restored. The masts you see above the entrance indicated how they they really were.
