Our last experience was unique.  It was a museum of houses showcasing the history of Iceland.  From the Viking age until the 20th century.  The official website is located here at this link.

Animals were kept in the small building behind and connected by a tunnel to allow heat to be shared.  They slept with the sheep when it got really cold.
