Michael and Marilynn board a Viking cruise ship and tour the Baltic Sea in 2017

What was wonderful about our time in Iceland, was the weather was fabulous.  It is almost never this nice!  Reykjavik is a pretty modern city sitting on a lava plain.  Founded by the Vikings, they maintain much of that heritage. Lonely Planet has a good web site for this city.  The "Pearl" is the huge hot water tanks that originally supplied Reykjavik.  It is now a giant museum and has a terrific observation deck where I took a panorama.  The museum was undergoing renovation so we went up to the observation deck.  The museum has its own website at this link.

Huge Lutherin church built on the highest point in Reykjavik. Very controversial design, but dramatic for sure. Learn more at this site.
