Viking provided us with a remarkable bus tour of places in Toronto that with the guide were really injoyable. We toured the Distillery
District and walked in the underground city (too cold above ground in the winter).
Entrance to the Distillery District of Toronto. Al Capone bought his booze here to supply his speakeasies in Chicago during the prohibition.
Distillery buildings line this street. Now they are home to restaurants and shops.

This is a very large sheet metal bender.
Wonderful huge belt drive drill press.

Our guide took us through a door and down stairs to the Toronto underground city. It was completely empty of anyone but us because it is used in the winter when it’s way too cold to walk the regular streets. It is filled with shops and restaurants only opening when the snow hits.
Like a huge snow chalet, this structure lets one see the outdoors when in the underground city.
First store in the underground we saw—naturally it’s a hockey store.
Empty restaurant. Don’t know why apocalyptic movies aren’t done down here in the summer.
And, finally, our guide in the financial district explaining that elephants are good business omens in Canada like our bull on Wall Street.
