Michael and Marilynn tour

The Great Lakes:

From Duluth to Toronto

Perhaps the most important connection between Lake Ontario and the rest of the Great Lakes is the Welland Canal. It allowed shipping to bypass Niagara Falls and replaced are very difficult portage with smooth sailing.  The history of this marvel is here:  <https://www.niagarawellandcanal.com/wp-content/themes/welland_canal/img/downloads/HistoricMap-English.pdf>.

Toronto and home

Because we would be leaving the ship early in Toronto to get to the airport, Marilynn only had time to photograph nesting Gulls on the roof of the customs building which was next to our ship.  Mother Gull was away finding food while the three nearly mature gulls squawked incessantly for more food!
