Taking a break from long drives, we went down to a Tonaquint City Park in downtown St George.  It was a  beautiful and relaxing walk around this park and had places of great tranquility.

Pond by the Ranger Building.

Audobon society was giving a lecture today about raptors to school children.

My favorite spot—just so tranquil in the morning light.

We took another hike while in St George.  It was to see the “Temple Quarry Trail”.  This mile and a half hike in goes along a cliff and in spots there is very little room for 2 way traffic, yet these minor rolled 5 1/2 ton loaded carts by hand.  You have to see this to believe it: <https://hikestgeorge.com/hiking-trails/temple-quarry-trail/>.

Marilynn in the arch that  begins the trail.

Marilynn got a Rock Wren!

These are the stairs that begin the trail, and end Approximately with a  5 degree climb or descent.

To get a feel for the huge undertaking these men did, read the plaque carefully.  There is no mention of fatalities.

They had to negotiate those stair steps on the way down!
