We visited Fire Lake at Ivin’s reservoir twice, but with a birdwatching group first which was entirely productive.  Second time there were no birds—go figure! Here is more info on Fire Creek:  <https://ivins.recdesk.com/Community/Page?pageId=8713>.

The iron rich mountains behind Ivin’s reservoir early in the morning.

A large flock of Avocets just into their  breeding plumage resting on their migration route.

Finally, my favorite was the marching Great Tail Grackles on the retaining wall. Like a bird rendition of Abbey Road!
