3 weeks in France-Home

The museum dedicated to injured soldiers is one of Paris’ great things to see.  While most of the building is museum, they still have rooms for soldiers who suffered debilitating injuries.  Built originally by Louis XIV the Sun King to house France’s injured soldiers in 1670.  While it seems such a humanitarian gesture on his part, it also cleared the streets of soldiers too injured to get jobs and who tried to survive by begging .  It also houses the remains of many of France’s war leaders, most notably Napoleon in the highest church in Paris.

Two sites give information on this special place:  1. <http://www.musee-armee.fr/en/english-version.html>, and 2. <https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Les_Invalides>.
