Stirling Castle and William Wallace

By far the most beautiful castle outside of Edinburgh in Scotland built by the Scots.  Sitting above the plains and the town of Stirling, it was the preferred castle for James IV, V, and VI as they kept improving it.  It was finally completely restored in 2011 and is a hugely popular tourist stop.  While many sieges and battles were fought for it, the victory by William Wallace over an English Army at the Stirling Bridge ranks as a highlight.
