In his very later years Leonardo Da Vinci moved to France at the behest of King Francois I who was a huge patron of science and art.  He set Leonardo up in a beautiful chateau near the Loire River in the city of Amboise.  Francois visited him frequently and paid him well to continue painting and inventing.  His house has a gallery of inventions that amaze even today.  They have a wonderful website for his place:  <http://www.vinci-closluce.com/en/place-presentation>.  We walked all over the grounds of Close Luce and I took many photos of the place, including the room where models of his many inventions are shown.
