Our place in the area called Cravant les Coteau. Our road was Le Vauriau and I think the number was nine. Magnificent former hunting lodge, located inside a huge national forest. Our nearest neighbor was half a kilometer distant. One morning I heard many dogs barking and then a hunting horn sounded! Besides how beautiful and isolated the place was, my biggest thrill was going out in the dark and for the first time in over 50 years I got to see the Milky Way. Here are photos of where we stayed. It also turned out that we were the last people who would ever get to stay here. What a series of fortunate outcomes we had including fabulous weather the entire trip - it only rained once!
