Our visits to the major cities of Eastern Europe started with our arrival prior to the tour meeting in Berlin in the wonderful city ofAmsterdam.

Amsterdam is a city that requires different ways of getting around.  Walking is extremely fun and easy, but the water taxi system is our first choice.  First we engaged in some canal touring before a detailed walking tour.  We visited the Flower Market and discovered things you don't see anywhere else, and then finished with a traditional Dutch meal that left us full for many, many hours!

We started our day going to a Hop on Hop Off boat.

We left quite early in the morning to walkabout in Amsterdam.  It really is one of the most photogenic cities we’ve been in with all the canals and narrow streets.  It was our intent to get to the Ann Frank house around opening at 9am.  Below is what it was like.  We finished the day with a traditional Dutch meal that left us stuffed, but smiling!

We got to Ann Frank’s house a little after 9 am and this is why we never went in to see it.  By the way, we are not traveling during high season; these were almost all local folks.
