Joachim Carvalho and his wife Ann Coleman fully restored this chateau to its original plans and made it our favorite site of all that we visited.  It is just too beautiful for words. Taking the tour inside the building the rooms are not roped of - you could actually touch things if you felt like it.  I rather think no one does, though.
