Return to the Travels of Marilynn and Michael

Montevideo is the capitol of Uruguay, and houses half of the population of the country.  Economic powerhouse, Montevideo  houses the largest trading    block in South America—Mercosur.   What surprised us was the litter of plastic bags and bottles everywhere.  They have no recycling and don’t seem to be much concerned   by the presence of this stuff.  Buenos Aires on the other hand was pristine by comparison.  More information here: <https://www.lonelyplanet.com/uruguay/montevideo>

General Jose Artigas. He is considered a Libertador of Río de la Plata and a national hero in Uruguay and Argentina, sometimes referred to as "the father of Uruguayan nationhood".
